14. The Interestings (Meg Wolitzer)

51zPTVP+crL._SL500_AA300_The Interestings is a coming of age story describing the lives of six teens that met at an art focused summer camp.  They formed a tight-knit group and named themselves “The Interestings”.  After leaving camp, four of the group members continued to meet and share experiences throughout their teen years and adulthood.  The other two members dropped away, after a traumatic incident occurred, which troubled them all.  The camper’s lives were bound through their camp experience and they shared secrets, successes and challenges as they reconciled the events of their pasts and grew into themselves.   This was a story of envy, of love and of the acceptance of self.
