3. The Ocean at the End of the Lane (Neil Gaiman)

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman, was a unique tale which I feel like I need to reread to truly understand.  It was a tale of a fantasy that was relived by a man who went back home for a funeral, visiting his childhood home and the neighbours that had saved him from supernatural forces including a wormhole in the boy’s foot that let a dangerous spirit into the world. The story rights have been sold and a movie is to follow.  This was a book club choice and a story that I may not have read had the group not chosen it for discussion but I am glad that I did!
